The morning usually starts with freshness, aroma of tea and hope for a new day. But for some people, morning means constant sneezing, runny nose and searching for a handkerchief. As soon as the eyes open, sneezing sounds start coming and one cannot understand what happened. Often we think that maybe we have caught cold at night or have a slight cold. 6. Stomach upset can also be the reason – Many times there is a problem of acidity or acid reflux at night. Due to this, the stomach acid irritates the throat and the back of the nose. Due to this, sneezing and mild cough starts in the morning.

What diseases can sneezing in the morning be a sign of?

1. Allergic Rhinitis – This is the most common reason. In this, the body reacts considering dust, pollen or animal hair as the enemy. Its symptoms include continuous sneezing in the morning, runny or blocked nose, itching or watering of eyes, sore throat.

2. Sinusitis – If sneezing is accompanied by headache, pressure on the face or heavy nose, then it could be a sinus problem.

3. Fever – Seasonal allergy in which there is irritation in nose, eyes and throat.

What to do if you sneeze every morning

1. Clean the bed and room. Wash bedsheets and pillow covers every week in hot water. Remove heavy curtains and carpets. Clean with a wet cloth instead of a dry broom.

2. Do not get up too quickly, first sit for a few minutes, wash your face with lukewarm water as soon as you wake up and drink a glass of plain water.

3. It is beneficial to clean the nose with lukewarm water mixed with salt.

4. Keep the dust in the room low, keep pets away from the bed, use air purifier if necessary.
