ICC said in its release that the technical committee of the event has approved the inclusion of Abdul Qadir in place of Mohammad Shayan in the Pakistan team. It was further written that after Shayan was out due to a nasal bone fracture during the team’s practice session, Qadir has been included in the team in his place.

Replacement of a player requires the approval of the Event Technical Committee, only after which the replacement player can be officially included in the team.
