India vs New Zealand T20 series started from 21 January. Since then, Sanju Samson has been the constant target of critics. He was able to score only 40 runs in the first 4 matches of the series, due to which there was speculation about his exclusion from the fifth T20. In the fifth T20 match, India won the toss (IND vs NZ 5th T20 Toss) and chose to bat first, at the same time captain Suryakumar Yadav said a big thing about Sanju Samson.
Sanju Samson is not going anywhere!
At the time of the toss, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav said, “Akshar Patel, Ishan Kishan are back in our team. Yes, one more thing, people of Thiruvananthapuram, Sanju Samson is playing today.”
Earlier, Indian team’s batting coach Sitanshu Kotak had said that even though Sanju Samson has not been able to score runs as expected, but he is a senior player and understands his responsibility very well. He also said that Team India is well aware of his ability.
The team management has shown confidence in Sanju Samson even after scoring only 40 runs in the first 4 matches of the New Zealand T20 series. Obviously the Indian team management is considering him as the first opening option in the T20 World Cup.
