If no extra runs are scored, a batting team can score a maximum of 72 runs in two overs. This seems like an almost impossible task to do. T20 is the most unpredictable format of cricket, New Zealand leg-spinner Ish Sodhi has become its victim. Sodhi gave away 58 runs in 2 overs and also hit a lot of fours and sixes.
A strange coincidence happened with Ish Sodhi in the T20 series against India. Indian batsmen scored 58 runs in their 2 overs. In fact, in the fourth T20 match, Shivam Dubey had scored 29 runs in his over, while in the fifth T20 match, Ishan Kishan did the same feat.
58 runs in 12 balls
The fourth T20 match vs India was played in Visakhapatnam. Team India was in a struggling situation, then Ish Sodhi was seen flying in the storm named Shivam Dubey. Till the 11th over of the innings, Shivam Dubey was playing after scoring 12 runs in 6 balls. He hit 3 sixes and 2 fours in Ish Sodhi’s over. A total of 29 runs were scored in this over. Dubey completed his fifty in 15 balls, which was the third fastest fifty for India in the history of international T20 cricket.
Ishan Kishan did the same thing against Ish Sodhi in Thiruvananthapuram. This time too Sodhi came to bowl the 12th over of the innings, in which Ishan Kishan hit 4 fours and 2 sixes. 29 runs came in this over also. In this way Ish Soshi gave away 58 runs in 12 balls of 2 matches.
Ishan Kishan’s first century
Ishan Kishan played an explosive inning of 103 runs in 43 balls in this match. This is his first century in T20 career. In fact, his century was completed in just 42 balls, making him the fifth fastest century for India in T20 International cricket.
