The sounds of explosions were heard in many areas of Iran on Saturday (31 January 2026), which created an atmosphere of panic in the entire country. Meanwhile, a massive explosion occurred in an eight-storey building in Bandar Abbas city located on the Gulf coast. One person has been confirmed dead in this accident, while 14 people are said to be injured. Quoting Iranian government media, news agency AFP said that the cause of the explosion is not yet clear. Relief and rescue work is being carried out rapidly at the incident site.
Amidst the ongoing tension in Iran, US President Donald Trump, while talking to reporters at the White House on Friday (January 30, 2026), said that Iran wants to make a deal with America. Trump claimed that Iran wants to come to the path of talks to avoid military conflict. However, on the same day, Iran made it clear that its missile and defense capabilities would not be part of any kind of negotiation.
America gave deadline for talks
US President Donald Trump also said that he has given a deadline to Iran to start talks regarding its nuclear and missile programs, although its date has not been made public. Showing the seriousness of the tension, Trump said that America has sent a large naval fleet towards Iran. He said that this fleet is part of the American aircraft carrier group deployed in the maritime area near Iran.
Hope for agreement, but military options also open
Trump said that he hopes that an agreement will be reached between America and Iran. He also said that if no agreement is reached then the further situation will be considered.
President Peshezkian accused America, Israel and Europe
Iranian President Masoud Peshchekian on Saturday made serious allegations against America, Israel and European countries. He said that US President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and some European countries are trying to instigate tension during the recent protests in Iran.
