This statement of Khamenei has come at a time when Trump has put two conditions before Iran, which include stopping the nuclear program and stopping action against the protesters.
American army threatens Iran
Iran had planned military exercises in the Persian Gulf on February 1 and 2. The narrow mouth of the Persian Gulf is called The Strait of Hormuz. One-fifth of the world’s oil trade passes through it. Tehran had warned that it would practice firing here. At the same time, the Central Command of the US Army warned on Saturday (31 December 2026) that if tension increases near the US Army, regional partners or commercial ships, then the risk in the region will increase further.
Anyone who attacks Iran will get a reply: Khamenei
According to Iranian government television, Khamenei said, ‘The Americans should know that if they start a war, this time there will be a regional war in the Middle East. We are not provocateurs and we do not want to attack any country, but Iran will give a befitting reply to anyone who attacks us.
Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said that a framework is being prepared for possible talks with the US. This statement of Ali Larijani came after the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Friday (30 January 2026). America has further strengthened its military presence in the Middle East.
US President Donald Trump has said that a huge naval fleet (led by the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln) is moving towards Iran. According to Trump, this fleet is bigger than the one sent to Venezuela. Due to this, the risk of conflict between the two countries seems to be increasing, although Washington has publicly expressed the possibility of diplomacy.
Iran wants to talk
Tehran has already indicated that it is ready for talks, but only if the talks are fair and without any pressure or threats. Meanwhile, Iran’s Army Chief Amir Hatami warned that if America makes any mistake, it could threaten its own security as well as the security of Israel and the entire West Asia region.
