MLA Anant Singh, who won from Mokama seat in the 2025 assembly elections, will take oath as MLA in the assembly tomorrow (Tuesday, February 03, 2026) at 11 am. For this he has got permission from MP-MLA court. Presently he is lodged in Beur jail in the Dularchand Yadav murder case. He will be brought to the Assembly for the oath under tight security.

Bail petition has been rejected

Let us tell you that Anant Singh is in jail in the case of Dularchand Yadav, who was murdered on October 30 during the assembly elections. He was arrested in this case and since then he is in jail. Although a petition for bail was filed in the civil court, it was rejected.

Anant Singh could not even campaign in the elections

The party and its supporters knew that Anant Singh would win from Mokama seat. He contested the elections on JDU ticket. When Dularchand Yadav was murdered, Anant Singh had gone to jail after being accused and hence he was not able to campaign. For them, leaders like Lalan Singh had held a public meeting in the area. When the result came, Anant Singh won by a bumper margin.

Before Anant Singh, his wife was MLA from Mokama. He won the by-election. When Anant Singh was out of jail during the 2025 elections, he decided to contest the elections. When he got the ticket from JDU, the party fielded Veena Devi from RJD in front of him. Although she could not win. Now Anant Singh has got a chance to take oath. After the results came, he could not take the oath because he was in jail.

Anant Singh is always in the news. Just a few days ago, a video of him smoking a cigarette had surfaced, after which the opposition had surrounded him.
