Sharad Pawar’s reaction came amid the uproar over Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi raising the issue of China during the discussion on the President’s address in the Lok Sabha during the budget session of Parliament.
Nationalist Congress Party Sharad faction leader Sharad Pawar told reporters in Baramati that Rahul Gandhi should have been given an opportunity to speak. He said that Naravane has been the Army Chief, and if the opposition is discussing this topic then Rahul Gandhi should have been allowed to speak in the Lok Sabha.

On the other hand, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said that when the Prime Minister comes to speak in the House, he will personally meet General M.M. Will give him Naravane’s book. Rahul Gandhi said that this is Naravane’s book, in which the entire incident has been written in detail.
Rahul said that he has been told that he cannot quote this book directly, but the main line of it is that the Prime Minister had said – ‘Do whatever you think is appropriate. According to Rahul Gandhi, when Chief of Army Staff General Naravane called Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and informed that Chinese tanks had arrived at Kailash Ridge and asked what to do, no clear answer was received at first.

Rae Bareli MP said- Naravane contacted the Foreign Minister, NSA and other top levels, but no decision was taken. Later Rajnath Singh said that he would ask from the top, and from there the order came that if Chinese forces come to our border then there will be no firing without asking. Rahul Gandhi said that at that time the army wanted to fire, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message came that ‘do whatever you deem appropriate.’ Rahul Gandhi alleges that the Prime Minister did not understand his responsibility and left the decision to the army.
He said that Naravane has written in his book that at that time he was feeling completely alone and helpless, and that is why when the Prime Minister comes to the House, he will hand over this book to him.
