These videos caught the attention of director Sanoj Mishra who has previously made films like ‘Gandhigiri’ and ‘Shashank’. Sanoj had signed him for his film during the 2025 Mahakumbh itself. The name of the film is ‘The Diary of Manipur’ in which Monalisa will be seen in the lead role.

According to director Sanoj, the shooting of the film was done in four schedules. First it was shot in Etawah and then the team reached Manipur where work was done on many real locations. After this, shooting was completed in Nepal and finally in Dehradun. A major part of the film was completed last week and now the team is going to participate in Magh Mela.

Sanoj tells that when he saw Monalisa for the first time in the fair, people were misbehaving with her for selfies and reels. They are very simple people and come from Maheshwar in Madhya Pradesh. Seeing this, he decided to give the lead role to Monalisa. Later he was brought to Indore and then to Mumbai where he was given training in acting and studies. Initially she only knew how to sign her name but with hard work and dedication she has learned a lot.
