The most important thing is that till now about 98 percent of the notes of Rs 2000 have been returned to RBI. At present only notes worth Rs 5,669 crore are left in circulation in the market. What is the option now?

Although there is still a way open. You can deposit ₹2000 notes by visiting 19 designated offices of RBI. These offices are located in Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Thiruvananthapuram and Belapur.

Even though the Rs 2000 note is still valid, its circulation has almost ended. In such a situation, for those who still have these notes, the only practical option left is to deposit them through RBI offices.
