The 2026 T20 World Cup is going to start from 7th February. The Indian team will start its World Cup campaign with a match against USA on the same day. But before that, a big problem is facing the Indian team management. The name of this problem is Washington Sundar’s injury. Actually Sundar has not been completely fit yet. Now Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav has given a statement regarding his replacement in the squad.

Washington Sundar was injured during the ODI series against New Zealand. After examination, it was found that he was suffering from side strain, due to which he was advised to take some rest. Due to this injury he could not play in the T20 series against New Zealand.

What will be the change in Team India?

On the possibility of bringing another player in Team India in place of Washington Sundar, captain Suryakumar Yadav said in the captains’ press conference held on February 5, “We will be patient regarding the Washington Sundar issue. We do not want to rush into replacements.”

Suryakumar Yadav also said that coach Gautam Gambhir has given freedom to every player of the team to play his natural game. Suryakumar gave an example of how Ishan Kishan had completed his century with a six.

Discussion intensifies on Ishan Kishan

Many questions have been raised regarding which playing eleven the Indian team will field in the T20 World Cup 2026. The discussion is especially intense regarding the opening.
