The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the replacement of Harshit Rana. Fast bowler Mohammad Siraj has joined Team India for the World Cup. Harshit Rana was injured in the warm-up match against South Africa, after which he was ruled out of the entire tournament. BCCI has included Mohammad Siraj in the 15-member team in place of Harshit Rana.
BCCI issued a press release saying, fast bowler Harshit Rana has been ruled out of the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 due to a knee injury suffered during the warm-up match against South Africa in Navi Mumbai on 4 February 2026. The BCCI medical team has declared him ineligible to participate in the tournament. The team management wishes for his speedy recovery. Fast bowler Mohammad Siraj will join the team in place of Harshit Rana.
Let us tell you that Harshit Rana was injured on 4th February. After this, he was sent to the clinic for examination on 5 February. Investigation revealed that there was swelling in his knee, due to which there was lack of movement. Rana also complained of severe pain. After this when the scan was done Lateral Meniscus That means an injury was detected on the outer part of the knee. After the advice of famous orthopedic surgeon Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala, he has been asked for surgery. After investigation, the medical team has found that his recovery is not possible without surgery.

The 2026 T20 World Cup will start from tomorrow, 7th February. A total of 3 matches will be played on the first day of the tournament. Team India will also play its first match of the tournament on Saturday, 7 February. India faces USA in the T20 World Cup on Saturday. However, Harshit Rana’s replacement has not been announced yet.
