Samsung has confirmed that it will launch its smart glasses this year. This offering of Samsung will give a tough competition to the Meta smart glasses already present in the market. Samsung’s smart glasses will have these features
Samsung’s first smart glasses will have a camera, microphone and speaker. It will use the Android XR platform and will be integrated with Samsung’s Galaxy products. This ecosystem includes smartphones, smartwatches and smart rings etc. However, AR display or heads-up display will not be provided in the company’s first generation smart glasses. Samsung has partnered with eyewear fashion brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker for smart glasses.
Samsung is working on two models
According to reports, Samsung is currently working on two smart glasses with model numbers SM-O200P and SM-O200J. Slight differences can be seen between these two. Both the first generation models are not expected to have a display, but it is being said that their second generation will be launched with AR display in 2027.
Meta is at the forefront right now
Currently, Meta is leading in the smart glasses segment. The company has launched two generations of smart glasses and has also shown the prototype of the model with AR display. Seeing the increasing interest of people in smart glasses, now other companies also want to enter this segment. Like Samsung, Apple is also making two new smart glasses, one of which will come without display and the other with integrated display.
