Rajasthan government has taken an important decision to strengthen school education. Under the new rules, now students of class 5th and 8th will not be promoted to the next class without passing. The government believes that this change will improve the level of education of children and reduce the dropout rate. The Rajasthan government has changed the rules related to promotion with the aim of improving the quality in primary and upper primary education.
Earlier, students of 5th and 8th class were sent to the next class even without passing. This system was called Auto Promotion System. Now this system has been abolished. According to the new rule, students of these classes will be required to obtain the prescribed minimum marks. If a student is not able to obtain the required marks, he will be considered failed. The government believes that this step will make the education system more effective and responsible.
Failing students will get an opportunity to improve
Keeping in mind the future of the students, the government has also made a provision to give them a second chance. If a student does not pass the first examination, he will be re-examined within 45 days. During this time, students will be given adequate time to prepare. Its objective is to ensure that students can understand their weaknesses and perform better in the re-examination.
Arrangement of special classes for weak students
Special classes will be conducted in schools to help the failing students. These classes are called remedial teaching. In these special classes, extra attention will be given to the weak subjects of the students. Teachers will teach the students in a simple way and understand their problems and give solutions. This process will increase the self-confidence of the students and they will be able to perform better in studies.
Aim to reduce dropout rate
The main objective of this change is to reduce the number of students dropping out of school. Often, due to weak basic education, students face difficulty in understanding the subjects in later classes and they start moving away from studies. Under the new system, students who fail will be given a chance to improve through special classes and additional guidance. Teachers will regularly monitor the students’ studies and parents will also be encouraged to cooperate in their children’s education, so that students are encouraged to continue their studies.
