The family of James Van Der Beek has confirmed his death by releasing a post on his Insta. The statement read, “Our beloved James David Van Der Beek passed away this morning. He lived out his last days with courage, faith and grace. There is too much to tell about his wishes, love for humanity and the sanctity of time. For now, we ask for complete privacy as we grieve the loss of our beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend.”

Hollywood celebs are expressing grief
In the comments section of the post, several American TV stars and Hollywood actors expressed their grief over Van Der Beek’s passing with heartfelt posts. Sarah Michelle Gellar wrote in the comments, “I’m so sorry for your beautiful family. Although James’ legacy will live on forever, this is a huge loss not only for your family but for the entire world. Fuck you cancer.” Jennifer Garner also left a comment, writing, “What a heartbreaking loss. Van der Beek was married and had six children. In the year 2024, he announced his cancer diagnosis. James said in a statement to People Magazine, “I have colorectal cancer, and I am privately dealing with this diagnosis and taking steps to cure it with the support of my wonderful family.
