Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has issued rules regarding recruitment to the posts of Senior Manager. This recruitment will be done in the Traffic and Mechanical Department and a total of 61 posts will be filled. These posts will be filled through direct recruitment, promotion and transfer. The corporation has made it clear that this time qualification and experience will be given utmost importance.

There are a total of 30 posts of Senior Manager in the Mechanical Department. Of these, 20 posts will be filled through promotion and 10 posts will be filled through direct recruitment. This post comes under Group ‘A’. The salary for this post has been fixed between Rs 15,600 to Rs 39,100, with a grade pay of Rs 6,600. This salary is according to level 11 of the 7th pay scale. The maximum age limit for direct recruitment has been kept at 45 years, however, government employees and DTC employees will be given age relaxation as per rules. For direct recruitment, the candidate must have a degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering.

Along with this, one should have at least 8 years of experience in the field of repair and maintenance of automobile vehicles. The candidate should have experience of working as a manager or above and the ability to handle employees is also necessary. The selection process includes direct recruitment, promotion and deputation or transfer. 5 to 10 years of experience in mechanical department for promotion or deputation. Selected candidates will have to undergo a probation period of 2 years.

A total of 31 posts of Senior Manager will be filled in the Traffic Department. Of these, 20 posts will be filled through promotion and 11 posts through direct recruitment. This post also comes under Group ‘A’ and the salary will remain the same as fixed for the Mechanical Department. The age limit for direct recruitment is up to 45 years and government and DTC employees will get age relaxation. For this post, the candidate must have a postgraduate degree from a recognized university.

Also, there should be at least 8 years of experience at the post of Manager or above in a State Road Transport Corporation or an organization related to bus operation. The candidate should have knowledge of route planning, time table and operations. Candidates who have a law or MBA degree can be given preference. For promotion or deputation, 5 years of service in the post of Manager (Traffic) or a total of 8 years of experience is required. Here also a probation period of 2 years will be applicable after selection.
