Ignoring safety standards on the National Highway-124D under construction in Ghazipur took the life of a young man. On Tuesday, 30-year-old Ravindra Paswan died after falling into an 8 feet deep pit. Considering this as serious negligence, the administration has filed an FIR against the executing agency on Wednesday.
Actually, the matter is near Shaheed Veer Abdul Hameed Chowk located in Jalalabad of Dullahpur police station area. Here, a pit about 8 feet deep was dug for the construction of underpass on NH-124D. The surprising thing is that there was neither barricading, nor warning board nor adequate lighting arrangement at the spot.
Accident happened due to loss of balance of bike
Told that late on Tuesday evening, 30-year-old Ravindra Paswan, resident of Jalalabad, was passing by on a bike. While trying to save the vehicle coming from the front, he lost his balance and fell straight into the pit. The accident was so horrific that blood started flowing from his nose and mouth. With the help of villagers and police, Ravindra was pulled out of the pit and sent by ambulance to Mau District Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Ravindra had returned after earning money from abroad
It was told that Ravindra was the third among five brothers. He got married three years ago and just two months ago he returned home after earning money from Saudi Arabia. There is mourning in the family. After this incident, once again the negligence of the construction company has been exposed and the happiness of some house has been snatched away.
Case registered against the concerned firm
ADM Ayush Chaudhary said that this accident occurred due to non-compliance of safety standards. A case has been registered against the concerned firm in Dullahpur police station under relevant sections. Also, a report has been sent to NHAI to decide the responsibility of the engineers associated with the project. The process of providing all the benefits permitted by the government to the relatives of the deceased has been started.
