Due to the T-20 World Cup match being organized at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Ferozshah Kotla, Delhi on Friday (February 13), the traffic system at Delhi Gate and surrounding areas will be affected. Traffic is likely to be slow on many major routes from noon to 7 pm.

Before the match, more traffic than usual was seen in Delhi Gate area on Thursday. Traffic police and Delhi Police personnel were deployed for crowd management. People selling goods temporarily on the roadside were also removed so that traffic was not disrupted.

Heavy vehicles banned on these routes, use metro

During the match, movement of heavy vehicles will be restricted on Rajghat to Jawahar Lal Nehru Marg, Asif Ali Road from Turkman Gate to Delhi Gate and Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg between ITO to Delhi Gate. If necessary, traffic can be diverted for about an hour before the start and after the end of the match.

The traffic police has advised people to avoid the affected routes and use the metro if possible. This will help in avoiding traffic jams.

Free parking will be available on these routes

Free parking facility will be available for spectators at Mata Sundari Road, Rajghat Power House Road and Under Velodrome Road. Officials say that using designated parking spaces will reduce traffic pressure in the area.
