Nationalist Congress Party’s chief spokesperson Anand Paranjape clearly said that family does not mean only blood relations. He said that all the people coming with Ajit Pawar after the political decision taken on July 2, 2023 are his family. Expressing grief and anger over giving ‘political colour’ to the demise of the late Deputy CM, he said that there is a need to stop and think about how deeply they would be hurting Ajit Dada’s family and what pain they would be going through. Anand Paranjape said these things in a press conference held in Thane on Friday (13 February).
The NCP leader also condemned those people on behalf of the party who, according to him, are giving direction to the statements being given in the last few days after the sudden demise of Ajit Dada. He said that this type of language is not a part of the culture of Maharashtra.
‘The time bomb angle should also be investigated’
Paranjape said, “After the tragic demise of Ajit Dada, discussions about merger had started even before the funeral. At that time, one should have avoided giving such political statements. State President and MP Sunil Tatkare had presented the party’s side. From the very first day, the party has demanded an investigation into the accident.” Paranjape reiterated that the time bomb angle should also be investigated.
It is necessary to investigate the questions related to January 28 – Paranjpe
He further said, “Whatever issues have been raised by Rohit Pawar, they should be thoroughly investigated. The aspect of changing the captain at the last moment should also be investigated. Whether it was sabotage or an accident, this should come out through investigation. The party will not accept political statements being made regarding the events of January 27, but it is necessary to investigate the questions related to January 28. It is Sunetra Pawar who gave him emotional strength after the death of his grandfather.” Paranjape said, “After Sunetra Tai Pawar is elected to the legislative post, she will meet all the MLAs and discuss with senior leaders.”
Public’s right to know – Paranjape
Referring to the issues raised by Rohit Pawar, Paranjape said that everything should be investigated. This has been the party’s stance since day one. He stressed that there should be no politics on this issue. The investigation should be allowed to proceed and only then conclusions should be drawn. The investigation will reveal how the engine maintenance was being done in the VSR and whether the aircraft was fit for flight.
