IND vs PAK: The victory chariot of the Indian cricket team is moving ahead in the T20 World Cup 2026. By defeating Pakistan by 61 runs in the match played at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, India not only scored a hat-trick of wins but also qualified for the Super-8 round. There were many heroes of this victory, but the 9 balls bowled at the beginning of the second innings completely turned the match towards India.
Pakistan’s top order collapsed in 9 balls
The Pakistan team, which set out to chase the target of 176 runs, started facing setbacks from the very beginning. Despite the ball being new, captain Suryakumar Yadav handed the first over to Hardik Pandya and this decision proved to be absolutely right. Pandya sent opener Sahibzada Farhan to the pavilion without opening the account on the fourth ball of his very first over. Immediately after this, Jasprit Bumrah, who came to bowl in the second over, brought the match completely under India’s control.
Bumrah gave out LBW to Sam Ayub who looked set on the very second ball. After this, on the last ball of the same over, Pakistan captain Salman Ali Aga also gave an easy catch to Rinku Singh. That means, within just 9 balls, Pakistan lost its three big wickets and from here the match tilted in favor of India.
The batsmen laid a strong foundation for victory
Earlier, Ishan Kishan batted brilliantly for India and scored a quick half-century, which took the team to a strong score of 175 runs. He was also chosen Player of the Match for this innings.
Pakistan team looked helpless in front of the bowlers
While chasing the target, the entire Pakistan team was reduced to just 114 runs in 18 overs. Usman Khan struggled for some time after scoring 44 runs, while Shaheen Shah Afridi remained unbeaten after scoring 23 runs. However, apart from this, no batsman could face the Indian bowlers.
The tight bowling of Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel and Varun Chakraborty did not give Pakistan a chance to make a comeback in the match. With this victory, India’s record against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup has now become 8 wins in 9 matches, whereas for Pakistan, the next match has now become like ‘do or die’.
