According to the report of Hamad Medical Corporation, experts advise that extra caution should be taken regarding eating habits in this month, because irregular meals and excessive fried or sweet food can affect digestion.

People fasting during Ramadan should be especially cautious about their eating habits. After being hungry and thirsty all day, what is eaten during Iftar directly affects the health. A sudden change in routine and taking heavy or sweet food after a long gap can increase problems like burning sensation in the stomach, gas, fatigue or restlessness, especially things with high sugar and fat on an empty stomach show their effect quickly.

Avoidance of fried and greasy foods

It is better to avoid fried and greasy foods during Iftar. Samosa, fried potatoes or other deep-fried snacks may taste good, but they are high in fat and sodium. Eating these in large quantities after fasting can increase lethargy, heaviness and fatigue. Similarly, foods high in salt, like pickles or extremely salty snacks, can increase water loss in the body. After a day’s fasting, the body needs hydration, in such a situation excess sodium can disturb the fluid balance.

Sweets should also be eaten thoughtfully.

Sweet foods should also be taken thoughtfully. Sweets or desserts containing a lot of sugar give instant energy, but this energy does not last long. Apart from this, chocolate, tea, coffee or other caffeinated beverages should also be taken in limited quantity during Iftar, caffeine can take out water and essential minerals from the body, due to which there is a risk of increasing dehydration. Only a balanced and light food gives proper energy to the body after fasting and keeps the health stable.
