Before the 2027 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has started efforts to further strengthen its organization at the grassroots level. The newly appointed state president of UP BJP, Pankaj Chaudhary has implemented a new working style and strategy with the basic mantra of ‘Worker First’. The main objective of this new experiment is to remove the resentment of the workers and to establish direct ‘one-to-one’ communication with them.
To connect directly with the workers, Pankaj Chaudhary has made a major change in the BJP state office in Lucknow. To eliminate ‘VIP culture’ from the conversation, big tables have been removed from the office and additional chairs have been installed in their place. Its purpose is that there should be no ‘barrier’ between the president and the workers and more and more people can sit together and express their views without any hesitation. The State President will now regularly sit in the office during his stay in Lucknow and listen to the problems of the workers.
3 strict rules of the President
To give new energy to the party and improve the system, Pankaj Choudhary has set three main rules:
- Organizational discipline: Discipline within the party will be paramount. You will have to present your views only on ‘Party Forum’. Strict action will be taken against leaders who make statements against the party line.
- Monitoring of development schemes: The benefits of government schemes will be reviewed separately at the organization level.
- Direct communication with the public: Leaders and officials will have to establish direct communication and coordination between the public and the workers.
Monthly review system will be implemented in every district
Under the new strategy, a ‘monthly review system’ will be implemented in every district of the state. Through this mechanism the organization will test how effective government schemes are on the ground. Besides, it will also be monitored whether the general public and especially the party workers are getting the actual benefits of these schemes or not.
Preparation for 2027: Focus on appeasing the angry
In view of the upcoming assembly elections, the party’s entire focus is on bringing those workers, who are angry due to some reason, into the mainstream. Efforts are being made to unite and sharpen the organization before the elections through one-to-one mapping and direct communication.
