UP: Massive fire in Buddha Bazaar of Moradabad, 25 year old textile shop burnt to ashes, loss worth lakhs

There was chaos due to a sudden fire at New Clock Market located in the busy Buddha Bazaar of Moradabad city at around 10:30 pm on Saturday (February 21). The fire broke out in Shiv Shakti Cloth House Shop. This shop is said to be about 25 years old and a well-known wholesale cloth shop of the area. The owner of the shop is Harish alias Sumit Utreja.

According to eyewitnesses, after the market was closed, smoke was seen coming out from inside the shop. Within a few minutes, the fire took a huge form and the stock of ready-made clothes and clothes kept inside started burning.

Fire brigade brought the fire under control

Nearby shopkeepers immediately reached the spot and tried to extinguish the fire and informed the fire brigade. Fire engines reached the spot and after much effort the fire was brought under control. The fire was so intense that the flames were visible even outside the shop.

It was fortunate that there was less crowd in the market at the time of the incident, due to which there was no loss of life. However, while the fire was being extinguished, there was an atmosphere of chaos in the market area for a long time.

Loss of 70 to 80 lakhs

According to preliminary estimates, there has been a loss of around Rs 70 to 80 lakh in this accident. A huge stock of wholesale clothes was kept in the shop, which was completely burnt to ashes. Traders say that the owner has suffered a major financial blow due to the fire.

The reasons for the fire are not yet clearly known. Initially there is a suspicion of short circuit, but investigation is being said at the administrative level.

Local traders have demanded from the administration that fire safety arrangements in the market area should be strengthened and patrolling should be increased at night. At present the police and fire department are busy investigating the entire matter.
