Senior Samajwadi Party leader from Maharashtra Abu Azmi said that Ramadan is very important for Muslims. In such a situation, Maharashtra government should also give concession. The SP leader in Mumbai said that I have also requested the Chief Minister to give religious concession in the month of Ramzan, so that people observing Roza and offering Namaz can work in the office only till 4 pm and then can take leave.
He further said, “We told the Chief Minister that other governments have also given this relaxation and they should also consider it. Ramzan has great importance in the Muslim society. That is why we want that the relaxation should be given.” He said that the assembly session is also coming next. There should be some relaxation here also.
‘Like other states, concessions should be given in Maharashtra too’
Abu Azmi said that just as government and semi-government employees have been given leave till 4 pm under religious concession during Ramzan in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, similarly I request Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to take a similar decision in Maharashtra too, so that the employees observing Roza can get relief.
What did you say on The Kerala Story 2?
On the film ‘The Kerala Story 2’, Abu Azmi said that this is all false propaganda. There is no such thing as ‘Love Jihad’. Many boys and girls of different religions marry each other. If there is so much trouble then make a law that boys and girls cannot marry in any other religion. One should not create hatred among people by bringing such a film.
‘People of all religions should live with love’
He said that such a film should be made which sends a good message to the society. People of all religions should live together with love and affection. Let the law take its course. If anyone does wrong he will be punished. I think the Supreme Court should take cognizance of this matter.
Said this on marriage registration law in Gujarat
On whether parental approval is necessary for marriage in Gujarat, Abu Azmi said that the Gujarat government has taken the right decision. If someone is getting married then he will have to take the approval of his parents.
On the performance of Youth Congress during the AI Summit, Abu Azmi said that Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia had said that when the roads become deserted, then the Parliament becomes a vagabond. Everyone has the right to protest. I think it is not right to be so strict.
