His court astrologer Fazeel Ahmed had prepared his horoscope, which described many aspects of his future.
According to MJ Akbar, Aurangzeb had also asked his astrologer what would happen after his death. The astrologer predicted that after his departure there would be anarchy in the state. Aurangzeb took this seriously and said that after my departure there would be anarchy everywhere. The king who comes after me will be ignorant and narrow minded. Although I will leave behind a capable minister, my four sons will interfere in his work. Aurangzeb himself foresaw conflict and destruction in his later empire.
