News 18 quoted a source close to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s production and wrote – Bhansali strives for perfection. He is not satisfied until every frame matches his vision. Because of this commitment he has become a big filmmaker. But due to repeated production extensions the budget has increased.
Love and War’s budget increased
Wrote further – Originally the film was planned for Rs 350 crores. But now the budget of the film has increased to Rs 425 crores. For this reason, it has become Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s most expensive project till date. It was also told in the report that the fees of lead actors are not included in this budget of Rs 425 crore. He has chosen a profit share deal instead of fees. He will get profit from the theatrical revenue of the film.
It was also mentioned in the report that initially the shoot plan was for 120 days, which has increased to 175 days. Big scenes and dance sequences are yet to be shot in this. For this reason the cost of the film has increased. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is making the film. Saregama is also a part of it.
Filmmaker recovered Rs 200 crores
However, there are reports that the filmmaker has recovered Rs 200 crores. The streaming rights of Love and War have been sold to Netflix for approximately Rs 130 crore and the music and satellite rights have been sold for approximately Rs 80 crore.
