Before the Rajya Sabha elections, actor-singer and BJP leader Pawan Singh met the party’s national president Nitin Naveen in Delhi on Thursday (26 February). After this meeting, Pawan Singh said that he took blessings from Nitin Nabin and this was a courtesy meeting. On the question whether BJP will send him to Rajya Sabha, he said, “I am a brother, whatever the boss wants will not happen.”
Last date for filing nomination is March 5
Let us tell you that Rajya Sabha elections are to be held on five seats of Bihar. Elections will be held on 16 March. The last date for filing nomination is March 5. Holi is on 4th March, that means the last date will be the next day of Holi.
Political discussion has already gained momentum regarding Pawan Singh. Even during the Bihar Assembly elections, it was discussed that BJP could field him. Pawan Singh’s name also came into the headlines during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. But the party did not take any such decision. It is being said that during the assembly elections, BJP had promised him that he would be sent to Rajya Sabha. Pawan Singh had campaigned in support of BJP during Bihar Assembly elections.
Not a single BJP MP on the vacant seat
There is currently no BJP MP on the five Rajya Sabha seats that are falling vacant in Bihar. Two seats are vacant for JDU, two seats for RJD and one seat for Upendra Kushwaha. Upendra Kushwaha is the President of Rashtriya Lok Morcha. During the assembly elections, Upendra Kushwaha was also promised one Rajya Sabha seat and one MLC seat. At present, Upendra Kushwaha’s son Deepak Prakash is a minister in Bihar and he is not a member of any house. It is considered certain that he will become MLC. The seats of JDU’s Harivansh and Ramnath Thakur are going to be vacant. Whereas RJD’s Premchand Gupta and Amarendra Dhari Singh are retiring.
