The story is of a young woman who had four years of good work experience. However, due to personal reasons he took a break of one year. This gap of one year was becoming a big obstacle for him in finding a new job, many companies probably rejected his resume just for this reason. He was interviewed for an operational position. The interview lasted for approximately 20 to 30 minutes and was conducted in a conference room. The interview was conducted by the company’s co-founder and COO Darshit Lakhani.

What was discussed after the interview?

After the interview was over, the CEO asked Darshit for his opinion. Darshit said the candidate is confident, polite and well-intentioned, but he mentioned two big concerns. This included that his English is very weak, due to which he is not currently suitable for a role like Inside Sales and there is a gap of one year in his career, due to which big companies would have already shortlisted his resume. When he was asked to think beyond these shortcomings, Darshit agreed that the girl’s attitude was positive and could be improved by training her. The only real problem was that there was no defined role for him in the company at that time.

Often companies avoid candidates in such situations, but something different happened here. The CEO called the girl again and told her the whole truth clearly. He was told that at present no fixed post was fixed for him and no false promise was made. Only clear and true facts were presented. The girl took this transparency positively and agreed to start the work from Monday. The most special thing was that on her first day she reached office exactly at 9:30 in the morning.

His words were very simple but powerful. She said, I will watch everyone and learn. This will help me understand what is expected of me, so that I can prepare myself accordingly. This thinking makes him different from other candidates. While many people wait for their opportunity, he decided to learn and prove himself without any guarantees.
