Now the method of education is going to change in the government polytechnic institutes of Uttar Pradesh. The government has decided to adapt technical education to the times. Now students will be taught not only old technical courses but also new and rapidly growing technologies. Its objective is clear that the youth should be given such education so that they can get better jobs after completing their studies. The application process for admission to diploma courses in government polytechnic institutes has started. Applications are being filled from 15th January. The last date to fill the form is 30 April 2026.
The Technical Education Department has started the process of changing the curriculum. Besides, machines, labs and other necessary facilities are also being increased in colleges. This will give students an opportunity to work on machines along with books. Work is going on to make 45 polytechnics across the state advanced. New machines are being installed in these colleges and buildings are being improved.
New labs are being built in many institutions with the collaboration of Tata Group. In these labs, students will be able to understand the new technology themselves and learn by experimenting. The government believes that unless students work on the machine themselves, they will not be fully prepared. With new facilities, students studying in these institutes will get an environment which will be no less than any big technical institute.
Courses like AI and Data Science
Different subjects will be taught in the 2026-27 session. These include courses like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Cyber Security and Data Analysis. Besides, students will be given practicals in advanced lab. With this they will learn to operate machines, understand data and solve technical problems. To improve the syllabus, work is being done in collaboration with Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University. Apart from this, the work will not be completed merely by changing the curriculum. Keeping this in mind, there is a plan to provide training in new technology to teachers also.

Students will get the biggest benefit from these courses. When they learn new technology, it will be easier for them to get a job. Companies give priority to such youth who have understanding of work and who can work with modern machines. Along with this, this study will also prove helpful for those students who want to start their own business. With knowledge of new technology, they can also start their own small startup.
