A case of molestation of a foreign traveler woman has come to light in Mumbai. In this, two youths have forced the woman to take photographs. The woman made a video of this and posted it on social media. Taking cognizance of this, the police have registered an FIR against two youths.
A foreign female tourist named Ines Faria shared a post on her Instagram. The woman wrote in the caption that he followed me for 15 minutes. Which made me feel unbearable. There came a time when I had to push them away. After that they went away.
The woman shared her experience
Faria further wrote that I have been inside India for two months. But this is the first time this has happened to me. Most of my experiences so far have been very beautiful and good. In which I have also been welcomed, but today was a different day.
Faria further told that even after my refusal, they kept following me to take photos together. I was feeling uncomfortable with this. Those people used too much force. Faria wrote at the end of the caption that ‘no’ is a complete sentence. And safety and convenience come first.
Faria got support from people after viral video
As soon as this video went viral, a round of people’s reactions started in Faria’s inbox. On the video, he wrote ‘I got harassed in Mumbai’ which was shared by Ines Faria. After this, many users have personally apologized to Faria. Also assured of help.
Mumbai Police took action on viral video
On the viral video of Faria, Mumbai Police contacted him through message. Police asked for his address and contact details to gather more information to help in the case. Faria cooperated with the police. After which the police became active.
After gathering information, the police have registered a case against two accused. A case has been registered at Agripada Police Station in Mumbai regarding molestation of a foreign woman. A case has been registered against two unidentified people seen in the video under section 78 (1) 3 (5) of BNS. At present the police has started searching for the accused.
