Mohammed azharuddin stand: The Lokpal of Hyderabad Cricket Association has issued an order to remove the stand in the name of Mohammad Azharuddin from Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Under this order, Mohammad Azharuddin’s name will now be removed from the North Pavilion Stand. This order has been approved by former Chief Justice V Ishwariah (v Eswraih Judge), who further stated that no one will be sold in print in the name of Mohammad Azharuddin.

Former Indian captain fell

This is the case of 2019 when Mohammad Azharuddin used to be the President of Hyderabad Cricket Association. The same year a meeting was called on 25 November, in which it was agreed to change the name of North Stand to ‘Azharuddin Stand’. Before that the North stand was known as VVS Laxman.

In February 2025, a member of the HCA committee lodged a complaint. It claimed that HCA rules were violated at the time of the stand being named after Mohammad Azharuddin. He argued that according to Rule No. 38, no member of the council can take a decision in his own side.

Mohammad Azharuddin will go to High Court

Former Indian cricket team captain Mohammad Azharuddin has rejected all such allegations. Talking to The Hindu, he has spoken to the High Court. Azharuddin said that it is the disgrace of the Hyderabad Cricket Association.

Mohammad Azharuddin said, “There is no conflict of interest in this. I do not want to give any response to this nor do I want to fall to this level. The whole world will laugh at HCA. 17 -year -old cricket career, I have been the captain of the team for about 10 years, yet such behavior. Do you treat all cricketers in Hyderabad.

SRH’s homeground has been in controversy even before

The Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Ground in Hyderabad was also in controversy a few days ago. The management of the SRH team had accused HCA that its high officials were interfering in the sale of tickets. In such a situation, SRH Management had threatened to shift his homeground.
