Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025: Qualifiers for the Cricket World Cup to be held in India this year were played in Pakistan, in which a total of 6 teams took part. In the last match played on Saturday, West Indies had a target of 167 to win. To qualify for the World Cup, this target was to achieve this target in 10.1 overs but the team played only 4 balls more. As a result, Bangladesh was ahead of West Indies only 0.013 in the points table and was out of the West Indies World Cup.
In the qualifier matches, the Pakistan women’s cricket team qualified by winning all their 5 matches. Although Pakistan will not send its team to India for the tournament, it wants to play in the hybrid model. The collision was between Bangladesh and West Indies, as only 2 teams could qualify for the World Cup. Both teams won 3-3 matches but the West Indies lagged behind by a slight margin in the net run rate.
West Indies broken heart, NET run rate has lagged behind 0.013
The West Indies women’s cricket team, chasing the target of 167, registered a historic victory. Captain Haley Mathews scored 70 runs in 29 balls, Chinli Henry scored 48 runs in 17 balls. The team won in just 10.5 overs, but if it had achieved it at 5 balls and low, then his name would have been included in the teams playing World Cup instead of Bangladesh today.
Due to this defeat, the broken West Indies women cricketers could not stop their emotion and started crying on the field. Bangladesh’s net run rate was 0.639 and West Indies’s net run rate was 0.626, the difference was only 0.013.
Heartbroken West Indies Players is Still in disbelief over what just unfolded. They were needed to hit 4 and then six for qualification but taylor hit six ..#WIWVTIAW #Iccwomenqualifier pic.twitter.com/vhpetstbgh

48 (17). Last-Ball Six. But no ticket to the world cup 😢
Chinelle Henry’s 48 Off 17 Had the West Indies Dreaming. Taylor’s Final Six Had Them Believing. But it should’ve been a four and then a six.
Eventually, they fell short by 0.013 nrr 💔#WWCQ pic.twitter.com/wkngwzh4ip

Unlucky 0.013.
Recapping a scarcely Believable Evening of Heartbreak for Hayley Matthews’ West indies as they miss out on world cup by a net run rate margin.
