While reading the poem, he says in Persian, “This glorious morning has brought Ali’s message to me, I am a Brahmin that like Azam, I have become a slave of Ali. I am such a weak poet that how should I say this, when there is a wonderful miracle of Ali’s pen in front of me.” These lines are the translation of the Persian Mankabat which Balram Shukla said in praise of Hazrat Ali. In the video, Khamenei is seen listening to Balram Shukla very comfortably and attentively, and is also praising his lines.
Reading Kalam in Persian had attracted people’s attention among scholars and poets.
According to the information, it was a cultural and literary event, in which many scholars and poets participated. Dr. Shukla presented a poem on the personality of Hazrat Ali, his knowledge, justice and humanity in a very simple and impressive manner. His clear pronunciation and soulful presentation caught the attention of the people present. When he described the glory of Hazrat Ali in Mankabat style, the whole hall became silent. In his poetry there was emphasis on values like justice, truth and humanity, which are considered to be the hallmark of Hazrat Ali.

Dr. Balram Shukla is considered knowledgeable in Sanskrit and Persian languages. He has also been associated with Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center based in Tehran. His contribution has been important in strengthening the cultural relations between India and Iran. Videos of this program also surfaced on social media, in which people were surprised and happy to see an Indian poet praising Hazrat Ali in Persian.
