Here, on the whole issue, Geo News has confirmed that an attempt was made to intrude into its system in the last 24 hours. This has affected the on-air feed. This channel is aired under Pakistan’s Communication Satellite (PAKSAT).

The channel said in its statement that a wrong message was shown by hacking the channel’s screen. Such interruptions occurred continuously. Managing Editor of Geo News, Azhar Abbas also made a post regarding this on social media. It was written in Urdu. In this he said that the screen of Geo News was hacked and a wrong message was shown. Geo News has nothing to do with this in any way. Apart from this, he also demanded an investigation from the authorities.

Advertisements in support of Mossad shown on news websites of many countries
Apart from TV news channels, websites of many media outlets were also targeted. It also showed Google generated advertisements in support of Mossad. It appeared on the websites of about 19 different countries. Due to this, the risk of security breach has increased.

However, there has been no reaction from the Electronic Media Regulatory Authority of Pakistan on this entire matter. This incident has raised questions on Pakistan’s media infrastructure cyber security safeguards.
