Here the official result of the match will be known only when both the teams play at least 10 overs each. If even 10-10 overs cannot be played due to rain, then the match will be decided on the basis of other rules.
What if the match is completely washed out?
If the rain becomes so heavy that not a single ball can be bowled on both the match and reserve day, then the decision will not be taken by Super Over or boundary count. In such a situation, the ranking of the teams in the Super-8 stage will be seen. Team India stood second in Group-1 of Super-8, while England stood first in Group-2. In such a situation, if the match is completely canceled, then England will get a direct ticket for the final and India will be out of the tournament.

Both the teams have played some matches in this tournament at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
