When will India Post GDS result come?
The latest update for the candidates waiting for India Post GDS Result 2026 is that the first merit list is expected to be released in the first week of March 2026. According to some reports, it may be released this week or even between 7–10 March 2026. As soon as the result is released, candidates will be able to check their circle wise merit list by visiting the official website. This merit list will contain the names of those candidates who will be called for the further process i.e. document verification.
How is India Post GDS merit list prepared?
The merit list of India Post GDS Recruitment is completely system generated. This means that candidates are not selected on the basis of any interview or examination but directly on the basis of their 10th marks. The 10th class marks or grades of the candidates are first converted into percentage. After this, these percentage marks are added with an accuracy of up to four decimals and on the basis of that the merit list is prepared. If the marks of two candidates are equal then in such a situation selection is done on the basis of age or other prescribed rules. The candidates whose names appear in the merit list are further called for document verification. The final selection is made only after the scrutiny of documents is completed.

Where and how to check its merit list?
1. To check the merit list first visit the official website indiapostgdsonline.gov.in Go to.
2. Click on India Post GDS Result 2026 link visible on the homepage.
3. Now a new page will open where you will have to select your circle (state).
4. After selecting the circle, the PDF file of the merit list will appear on the screen.
5. Download the PDF and search your name or registration number in it by pressing Ctrl + F.
6. You can also keep the printout of this file safe for future. Information like name of the candidate, registration number, marks obtained, name of post, division, post office and place of document verification is given in the merit list.
