Due to the deteriorating conditions in the Middle East, the West Indies team is forced to stay in India and coach Darren Sammy shared an emotional message on social media that he and his team are waiting to be allowed to return home. Sammy wrote in a social media post that he just wants to go home.
West Indies’ T20 World Cup journey ended with a 5-wicket defeat against India on March 1. Four days have passed since then, but West Indies players, support staff, coaches and others are forced to stay in India.

Cricket West Indies says that it is working closely with the International Cricket Council (ICC) and relevant government authorities for the safe travel of the players. A BCCI source quoted by PTI said that the West Indies cricket team is still present in India and there is no clarity yet on when it will leave for home. Talking about West Indies, they had to defeat Team India to reach the semi-finals, but they lost to India by 5 wickets.
