Amidst the ongoing tension between America, Israel and Iran, the problems of children studying in Gulf countries are also increasing. Now important news has come out for Indian and Pakistani students studying in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. Sharjah’s education department, Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA), has decided to change the start date of the next academic session.
In a circular issued by the Education Authority, it was said that in those private schools of Sharjah, where Indian and Pakistani curriculum is taught, the new session will not start on the earlier scheduled date. Classes for students will now start from March 30, 2026.
The new session was to start from March 23.
According to the earlier released education calendar, the new session of schools with Indian curriculum in Sharjah was to start from March 23, 2026. But now after the new announcement, students will have to wait for one more week for the classes to start. SPEA has said that this decision has been taken after receiving advice from schools and reviewing the current situation. This will give schools some more time to make new arrangements.
Decision taken after demand of schools
The Education Authority said that this decision has been taken after the request from the schools. Many schools in Sharjah had sought to extend the start date of the new session through the School Principal Council. Schools said that in the current situation, extra time is needed to prepare for new classes. After reviewing all these reasons, SPEA took a new decision and informed the schools about it through a circular.
Online examinations will be held between March 9 and 12.
SPEA has given another important information for the students. According to the authority, the examinations of students can be conducted through online medium between March 9 and March 12, 2026. That means students will be able to take the exam from home. With this, the study process will continue and students will not need to come to school.
New instructions issued for school staff also
The Education Authority has also issued some new instructions for teachers and administrative staff of schools. According to the circular, some employees can come to the school premises if needed, but their number will be limited. The authority has clearly said that not more than 15 employees should be present in the school at a time. This arrangement will be in place only to complete essential tasks.

Parents will also be able to come to school
SPEA has also issued some guidelines for parents. Parents will be allowed to come to school, but only in limited numbers. Parents can go to school and collect uniform and books. However, the school administration will have to ensure that there is not too much crowd at a time and all the arrangements work properly.
Instructions given to school administration
The education authority has asked all schools to make their internal arrangements according to the new academic calendar. Along with this, schools have also been asked to inform students and parents about the new dates and rules on time. Schools will have to ensure that all the necessary preparations are completed as per the new date so that when the classes start, studies can begin without any hassle.
