The statement given by Ravindra Singh Bhati, independent MLA from Shiv Assembly of Barmer district in Rajasthan, regarding the Muslim community has created a new political storm in the state. Bhati said, “The minorities did not vote for me but I still talk about them.” Especially the Muslim community has expressed displeasure with this statement of Bhati.
In the 2023 assembly elections, Ravindra Singh Bhati contested as an independent candidate from Shiv assembly seat and won the elections by 3950 votes amid a triangular struggle. After his statement regarding the minority community, the Muslim community of Shiv Assembly has expressed their displeasure. They allege that dozens of villages belonging to the minority community voted for the independent Ravindra Singh Party. If the minority community had not voted, Bhati would not have reached the assembly and despite that, MLA Ravindra Singh Bhati made fun of him in the House.
Congress leader also raised questions
On the other hand, Congress leader Fateh Khan alleged that Ravindra Singh Bhati has ridiculed the Muslim community in the House. He said that Ravindra Singh Bhati has grown up in the lap of RSS and BJP. They are trying to enter BJP by making such statements. After his statement, Muslim voters are feeling cheated.
Ravindra Singh Bhati presented his side
After the matter gained prominence, MLA Ravindra Singh Bhati said while talking to ABP that for him every person of Shiv Vidhan Sabha is a member of his family, it is also sad that the minority community did not vote.
Bhati won by 3950 votes
It is noteworthy that in the 2023 assembly elections, Ravindra Singh Bhati won the election by just 3950 votes, whereas there are a large number of Muslim voters in this assembly seat. In such a situation, Bhati’s victory without the votes of Muslim community? It’s like challenging Muslim voters. Whereas if the figures are to be believed, Bhati has got around 3500 thousand votes from villages with more than 90% Muslim voters. Now in such a situation, this statement regarding Muslim society can create obstacles in his political journey.
