T20 World Cup 2026 Prize Money: After a month of excitement, now it is the turn of the finals. On March 8, one of the teams between India and New Zealand will lift the trophy. The clash between India and New Zealand, which reached the title clash after overcoming the challenges of the group stage, Super-8 and semi-finals, will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. How much prize money if you become the winner?
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has set a prize pool of US $ 13.5 million for the T20 World Cup 2026. This amount is more than Rs 120 crore in Indian currency. Out of this amount of Rs 120 crore, prize money will be distributed among the winners, runners-up and other teams.
If the Indian team wins the final, it will get prize money of 3 million dollars, which is equivalent to approximately Rs 27.48 crore in Indian currency. Even if the Indian team loses the final, it will not have to return empty handed. The runner-up team will get prize money of 1.6 million dollars i.e. about Rs 14.65 crore.
Money will rain on other teams too
A lot of money will be showered not only on the teams going to the finals but also on the teams losing in the semi-finals. Each team that lost in the semi-finals will get approximately Rs 7.24 crore and each team that reached the Super-8 but could not make it to the semi-finals will get approximately Rs 3.48 crore.
Each team eliminated in the group stage itself will get approximately Rs 2.29 crore as prize money. Let us tell you that compared to the 2024 T20 World Cup, this time the prize money has been increased by a huge 20 percent.
