For lakhs of youth preparing for central government jobs, Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the final recruitment chart for the Combined Graduate Level Examination (SSC CGL) 2025. According to the data released by the Commission, recruitment will be done on a total of 15,130 posts this year. These recruitments will be done in different ministries, departments and government organizations of the Central Government.
Like every year, this time too a large number of graduate youth will get a chance to get a government job through the CGL exam. Along with important information related to recruitment, the Commission has also told that option-cum-preference window will be opened in March for the candidates to choose the posts of their choice. Apart from this, to help the candidates, the Commission has also made available a sample option form on the website, so that the candidates can understand in advance how to fill the preference.
SSC will recruit more than 15 thousand this year
According to the final recruitment chart released by SSC, appointments will be made on a total of 15,130 posts this year. Selection on these posts will be done through CGL exam. Selected candidates will be given appointment in various ministries, departments and organizations of the Central Government. This examination is considered to be one of the most popular government recruitment examinations in the country, because through it one gets the opportunity to get a job in many prestigious departments like Income Tax Department, Central Secretariat, CBI, Custom, Audit Department.

Reserved posts for different categories
In the data released by the Commission, posts have been fixed as per reservation for all categories. Which includes Unreserved (UR) 6,464 posts, Other Backward Class (OBC) 3,834 posts, Scheduled Caste (SC) 2,223 posts, Scheduled Tribe (ST) 1,134 posts and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) 1,475 posts. In this way, candidates of all categories will be given opportunity in recruitment as per reservation rules.
Option-cum-preference window will open in March
SSC has informed that for various posts under CGL 2025, candidates will have to fill the preferences of the posts of their choice. For this, the Commission will open the option-cum-preference window from March 9. Candidates will have to login online during this window and indicate which posts they want to give priority to. On the basis of this, the process of final selection and post allotment will proceed. To facilitate the candidates, the Commission has also released a sample option form on its website. This form is only for practice so that candidates can understand how to fill the information in the real form. Genuine preference will be accepted through online portal only.
There will be no change after filling the option
As per the declaration form given in the form, the candidates will have to certify that they fulfill the required educational qualification and physical standards for the post for which they are opting. The Commission has made it clear that once the option is finally submitted, no changes can be made in it. Therefore, candidates have been advised to fill their preferences thoughtfully, apart from this, if any candidate’s information is found to be incorrect or the required documents are incomplete during document verification, then his/her candidature can also be cancelled.
