Before him, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul had done this. This sequence of Samson happened with his innings of 97 runs in the Super-8 match against West Indies. After that he played a valuable inning of 89 runs in the semi-final match against England. Now in the final match with New Zealand also he has scored 89 runs.

Till now, there are a total of 7 batsmen in the world who have scored fifty or more runs in three consecutive innings in the T20 World Cup. The names of these 7 batsmen are Virat Kohli, Mahela Jayawardene, Babar Azam, KL Rahul, Kusal Mendis, Sahibzada Farhan and now Sanju Samson has also done this feat.
Talking about Virat Kohli, he had scored 50+ in 3 consecutive innings in the World Cup tournaments of 2016-2021. Virat Kohli had scored 82 runs and 89 runs in his last two innings of the 2016 T20 World Cup. He returned unbeaten in both these innings.
