After providing a safe environment to the daughters in Uttar Pradesh, the aim of the Yogi government is to make them self-reliant and empowered, so that their dreams can get wings. For this, the government is continuously creating new opportunities in the field of education and skill development. The daughters of the state are getting the opportunity to realize their dreams through high level education, innovation and training programs as per the needs of the industries. The aim of the state government is that daughters should not be limited to studies only, but should also progress in the field of employment and entrepreneurship with modern technical and professional skills.
In this direction, a large number of young women are being given employment training through the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission run by the state government. Under the mission, they are being linked with employment by providing training in areas like IT, healthcare, fashion designing, beauty and wellness, electronics and retail. The government has laid special emphasis on making skill training in line with the needs of industries.
In the training centres, young women are being given modern technology, digital skills and practical training, due to which employment opportunities are increasing for them after training. Along with this, daughters are also being encouraged for self-employment and startup. Along with technical training, now young women are also being trained in modern capabilities like soft skills, digital learning and artificial intelligence, so that they can move forward with confidence in the changing global economy.
In this direction, Skill Development Mission has further modernized the training programs by entering into agreements with six reputed institutions. With the cooperation of these institutions, the girls will be given training in stage skills, communication skills, personality development and digital proficiency. Training in performing arts and soft skills will develop communication skills, self-confidence and leadership abilities in girls. With the collaboration of Bharatendu Natya Academy, the trainees will get training in stage skills and creative expression, which will also open new opportunities for art-based employment.
The government is emphasizing on making skill training in line with the demand of industries. For this purpose, ‘Skill Connect Cell’ has been formed between Invest UP and Skill Development Mission, through which trained workforce can be provided to the investing industries. This will also increase new employment and self-employment opportunities for girls. To make skill training more effective, performance-based grading system of training institutes has been implemented. Under this system, better performing institutions will be given more opportunities, which will improve the quality of training and provide better employment opportunities to the youth as well as the girls.
‘Kaushal Call Centre’ has also been started at the Mission Headquarters to connect the youth with schemes and employment opportunities. Through this, information related to training, placement and employment will be directly delivered to the youth, so that no daughter is deprived of any opportunity merely due to lack of information. The participation of daughters is also increasing continuously in the field of technical and higher education.
Girl students are getting education in engineering, information technology and other technical subjects in various technical institutes and universities of the state. At present, skill training is being given in about 35 sectors and more than 1300 job roles in the state. Important provisions have also been made in the budget for the financial year 2026-27 to strengthen skill development and vocational education.
With these initiatives of Yogi government, the daughters of Uttar Pradesh are progressing rapidly in the field of education, skills and employment and are playing an important role in building a self-reliant Uttar Pradesh.
