Tech Mahindra Layoff News: Various claims are being made on social media for the past few days regarding layoffs in Tech Mahindra, a big company in the automobile sector. It is being told that in view of the increasing use of Artificial Intelligence in the technology sector, the company may lay off 30,000 employees in the coming time. Now the company has given its clarification on this.
What explanation did the company give?
The company has denied the rumors of layoffs on social media and said that at present the company is not thinking of making any major reduction in the number of employees. In a regulatory filing last Monday, the IT services firm said that claims being widely shared online about job cuts are false and misleading.
Tech Mahindra said in the filing, “The company, on its own initiative, considers it necessary to clearly inform the stock exchanges that no such proposal is under consideration and categorically denies any such market rumours.
Steps towards AI
According to new company disclosures, Tech Mahindra employs about 1.5 lakh people worldwide and its employee count has remained largely stable in recent quarters.
Management had previously said the company was focusing on improving productivity on fixed-price projects, which involves redeploying employees from completed or underutilized assignments to new projects, rather than reducing headcount. This clarification is being given at a time when Tech Mahindra is increasing investment in Artificial Intelligence and digital transformation. The company recently announced the launch of an ontology-driven agentic AI platform in collaboration with Microsoft, designed to accelerate telecom and enterprise data modernization.
Condition of Tech Mahindra shares
Shares of Tech Mahindra are seen trading at Rs 1325.50 on NSE in the morning trade today on March 10, 2026, which shows a decline of about 0.81 percent from the previous closing price of Rs 1336.30.
