For the last few days, there has been a lot of discussion on the internet about changing the title of Rajkumar Santoshi directed and Sunny Deol starrer historical drama film ‘Lahore 1947’. Yesterday, many media reports claimed that the title of the film has been changed and it has now been made ‘Partition 1947’. Finally Aamir Khan has now told the truth of all these rumours.
Has the title of Lahore 1947 become ‘Partition 1947’?
Actually, according to the report of Bollywood Hungama, Aamir Khan was asked whether the title of Lahore 1947 has been changed to ‘Partition 1947’? Hearing this question, the film’s producer Aamir Khan laughed. He said, “Where did you hear that? No, the title of our film has not changed. For now, it is Lahore 1947, and I would like to keep it that way.”
Why are rumors spreading about changing the title of Sunny’s film?
The title Lahore 1947 came into question when it seemed that the Indian audience would not like an Indian film named after a city in Pakistan. According to the report, Aamir Khan said that he does not want to come under any such pressure. The problem lies somewhere else. Producer-director Sunil Darshan has the rights of the title ‘Lahore’. Talks are going on and the matter will be resolved very soon. So, the name of the film will be Lahore 1947, not Partition 1947.
