Since this gland is near the urethra, its enlargement can block the urinary tract. Due to this, urination comes slowly or the flow becomes weak. This problem is seen more in men above 45 years of age.
Underactive Bladder
In some people the bladder does not function properly. This condition is called underactive bladder. In this, the bladder is not able to shrink completely, due to which urine does not come out completely. Many times the patient does not realize that the bladder is completely filled. This problem can also be due to nerve related problems, diabetes, neurological disease or spinal cord injury.
Bladder outlet obstruction
Sometimes some kind of obstruction occurs at the mouth or lower part of the urethra. This condition is called bladder outlet obstruction. Due to this, the urinary tract may be partially or completely obstructed. This problem can also be caused by conditions like bladder stones, stains in the urethra or bladder cancer.
