Airline companies are struggling with the ever increasing prices of aviation turbine fuel and that is why the fares are being changed. In this series, Air India has also decided to implement new fuel surcharge.
This change will be applicable on both domestic and international routes. The airline says that jet fuel has become expensive due to increasing geopolitical tension in the Middle East. Due to which the operation cost has increased. This is the reason why now passengers may have to pay more money than before while booking tickets. Know how expensive tickets will become now.
How much will the fares increase on domestic flights?
According to the airline’s decision, a fuel surcharge of Rs 399 will be added to every domestic flight ticket from March 12. That is, if you book a ticket for travel within the country. So apart from the base fare and tax, this extra charge will also have to be paid. This rule will be applicable not only on Air India but also on Air India Express flights.
The company has also made it clear that the same surcharge will be applicable on flights going to SAARC countries also. The airline says that the rise in jet fuel prices has significantly increased the cost of operation. In such a situation, this step has become necessary. So that the increasing costs can be balanced to some extent.

Surcharge will increase on international routes also
Fuel surcharge has been changed not only on domestic routes but also on international routes. An additional charge of $10 per ticket will be imposed for flights going to West Asia. Whereas on Africa routes this fee has been increased to $90. Which is more than before. The surcharge for South East Asia has also been increased and it has been increased to $60.
The special thing is that now this charge will be applicable on flights to and from Singapore also. Whereas earlier no such surcharge was charged there. The airline says that this decision had to be taken due to the situation in the Gulf and the rising prices of jet fuel. Due to which the total price of tickets may increase in the coming time.
