The final result of UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025 was released on 6 March 2026. As soon as the result came out, some people in many parts of the country started claiming themselves as successful candidates. In many cases, confusion arose due to the names being similar or the information not being confirmed correctly. Later, the truth of these claims came to light in the commission and administrative investigation and many cases were found to be fake.
Two claims of Akanksha Singh regarding 301st rank
After the release of UPSC results, a big controversy came to light regarding 301st rank. Actually, two women with the same name had claimed success at this rank. One of these candidates was from Bihar, while the other was from Abhaipur village of Zamaniya block of Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh. After the claims of both of them came to light, discussion on this issue started on social media. To clarify the situation in this matter, an official press release was issued by PIB India. It was told in the press release that according to the records of the Commission, the real candidate who secured 301st rank in the Civil Services Examination 2025 is Dr. Akanksha Singh of Ghazipur. Her mother’s name is Neelam Singh. After this clarification, the long-running confusion ended.
Bulandshahr’s Shikha Gautam’s claim turned out to be wrong
Meanwhile, a shocking case also came to light from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh. Shikha Gautam, a resident of this place, claimed that she has secured 113th rank in the UPSC exam. It was told that Shikha had informed her family about this success by calling. On hearing this news, there was an atmosphere of happiness among the family and relatives. People distributed sweets and celebrated. When Shikha Gautam reached her home in Bulandshahr, the local people and relatives welcomed her with drums and drums. However, later when the official result was checked, it was found that the 113th rank had been given to another candidate, who is from Haryana. In this way, the claim of Shikha Gautam of Bulandshahr was proved wrong and the whole matter attracted a lot of discussion on social media also.

Fake claim of 440th rank came to light in Bihar
A fake claim regarding the UPSC result also came to light in Sheikhpura district of Bihar. Ranjit Kumar, a resident of Fatehpur village, declared himself to be a candidate of All India Rank 440 after the result was declared on March 6. When the people of the village got information about this, an atmosphere of happiness was created there. People congratulated him and his achievement started being discussed. He was also honored without any official confirmation. Even the local police station officer honored him by garlanding him. But later when this claim was investigated, it was found that the 440th rank was not of Ranjit Kumar of Bihar but of Ranjit Kumar of Karnataka. The accused had confused people by taking advantage of the slight difference in the name. When the administration asked for documents related to him, he suddenly disappeared. It is being told that he was preparing for competitive examinations while staying in Mukherjee Nagar, Delhi. At present the police is busy searching for him.
There was confusion regarding 79th rank also
After the UPSC result, another matter came to light in which there was confusion regarding the 79th rank. In fact, Priyanka Chaudhary, a resident of Bikaner, Rajasthan, has secured 79th rank in the Civil Services Examination. At the same time, the name of another Priyanka Chaudhary, resident of Gaura village of Jakhaniya area of Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh, also started being linked with the same rank on social media. Her father, who is working as a driver in a government department, had mentioned his daughter’s success in a conversation with the media. Later, Priyanka Chaudhary of Ghazipur herself clarified that she had no claim to this rank in UPSC. Have not done. He told that he is currently working on the post of GST Inspector in Prayagraj and he was selected in the year 2025.

The real candidate who secured 79th rank in UPSC is Priyanka Chaudhary from Bikaner district of Rajasthan. After hard work and continuous efforts, he achieved this success in the fourth attempt. Her husband is a 2015 batch IAS officer and is currently posted in Himachal Pradesh.
