When she went to the doctor, she had no idea that this could be an early sign of a serious liver disease. Later he told that looking back he still cannot believe that he is alive even after going through such a serious illness. On the occasion of ‘Rare Disease Day’, he shared his story to make people aware about his disease Granulomatous Hepatitis. This is a very rare disease related to the liver, in which doctors sometimes see only one or two cases in a year.

How could there be any problem with this?
Caroline’s troubles started in the year 2018, when she was watching TV at home. Suddenly his vision became blurred and there was a scratchy feeling in his eyes. Initially he thought it was a simple problem, but later the eye specialist diagnosed a disease related to inflammation in the eye. The problem became more serious when in 2019 the color of his eyes and skin started turning yellow. After this the doctors advised to undergo liver biopsy. Investigation revealed that he had a rare disease called Granulomatous Hepatitis.
What is the problem with this?
As the disease progressed, his condition became very weak. Due to extreme fatigue and mental confusion, she became unable to live a normal life and had to take the help of a wheelchair. Doctors advised him to undergo liver transplant and for this he had to wait for about six months. During this period, due to the effect of medicines, he developed severe osteoporosis in his spine. This is a disease in which bones become weak and brittle. Due to this, there was a big change in his height also. Earlier his height was about five feet four inches, which reduced to about four feet six inches. However, after liver transplant and treatment, his health gradually improved. After a few years, the functioning of his eyes and liver improved and his height also increased to about five feet.
