Under this scheme, interested entrepreneurs can start a breeding unit. For this, there is a provision to keep at least 500 female and 25 male sheep or goats. This unit will be started with such breeds which have good quality and which can give more milk or better wool. The breed can be selected from the list decided by the government or it can also be decided after consulting the state government.

How to get subsidy

The government is giving a maximum subsidy of up to ₹ 50 lakh under this scheme. This amount will not be given at once but in two equal parts. The first installment will be received when the first loan amount is released from the bank and the government agency examines the project. The second installment will be given when the entire project is ready and the concerned authorities certify that the unit has been started properly.

It will be necessary to submit necessary documents, bank guarantee and prescribed form along with the application. If a person wants to start a project with his own money, he can still get subsidy.
